Crash Cart Productions, LLC, is producing a full length documentary entitled Heal Thyself, which will take a look at the challenges of modern medical practice and chronicle the lives of individuals at various stages of moving on to different careers.
Ryan Flesher, MD is the Producer and Director, and Nancy Pando, LICSW, is the Associate Producer on this film. Dr Fletcher is an emergency room physician who has decided to leave the practice of medicine for a career in film production and direction. He has found hundreds of doctors that have similar levels of frustration with the practice of medicine, but to varying degrees. These individuals are in different points on the road to doing something else.The goal of this documentary is to show the journey of some of these doctors. It will include the struggles, the insecurities, and the self-doubt along with the triumphs and lessons learned. The message of the film (not the plot but the STORY) is that even the most educated, the smartest, and usually reasonably paid, have different needs in their lives. And to have the courage to go toward a dream, another goal, damn the consequences, is inspiring in every sense of the word.
