Are you a physician with a PhD looking to make a career change to a non-clinical career? An executive search firm is looking to fill the position of Senior Director, Clinical Leader, Clinical Development in the areas of Immunology, Rheumatology, Allergy, Hematology and Cardiovascular Disease for a pharmaceutical company client.

 

He/She will provide technical evaluation of licensing and/or partnering opportunities in Immunology, Rheumatology, Allergy, Hematology and Cardiovascular Disease and do the same for preclinical groups. This Physician Scientist understands and has a good working knowledge of new technologies. He/She will have the ability to assess, mechanism of action and effectively lead an international study team as well as collaborate with project management.

 

This person will provide medical input into clinical program across range of immunological indications and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders. This Physician Scientist assumes accountability for the design and implementation of global clinical development plans for specific Immunology, Rheumatology, Allergy, Hematology and Cardiovascular Disease compounds, according to identified strategy and timelines.

 

This position is responsible for the supervision of clinical operations activities and medical supervision of clinical trials, including protocol development, results interpretation and writing of reports and final documents. He/she will develop program strategies for assigned compounds, including review and optimization of protocols, identification of new indications for existing products.

 

The successful candidate will provide expert input for general strategy for the client’s Immunology, Rheumatology, Allergy, Hematology and Cardiovascular Disease endeavors as well as clinical and data operations, program management, clinical pharmacology, biostatistics, regulatory affairs and marketing in the pursuit of product registration with compounds currently in various stages of development.

 

Additionally he/she will participate in the selection of new compounds for clinical development and IND filings in Immunology, Rheumatology, Allergy, Hematology and Cardiovascular  Disease management. Not only must this Physician Scientist be able to analyze and interpret data expertly but also he/she must clearly communicate programs to internal and external customers. Finally, the ideal candidate must have a proven record or experience supporting early development and full development of projects focusing, but not limited to Immunology, Rheumatology, Allergy, Hematology and Cardiovascular Disease research.

 

The stipend is exceptionally competitive and there could be bonuses to compensate a well-qualified Physician Scientist for any loss of income because of transfer and loss of stock options, etc. The position is well within highly cultural area and the schools are exemplary.
