In search of a physician career change opportunity or a new non-clinical career? An executive search firm is working with a prominent Biotech company in New Jersey to fill the position of Senior Director – Medical Communications, Oncology.

GENERAL OVERVIEW

 

Oversees the development and execution of Medical Affairs publication strategy in collaboration with strategic alliance partners. Manages projects with internal and external stakeholders to provide relevant data for timely completion of key educational and publication initiatives.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.  Collaborate with strategic alliance partners to develop and execute publication plans for key product(s). Interacts with all internal departments, strategic alliance partners, contract vendors, or outside organizations affiliated with the Company, to provide a quality control and edit checks on product information.

 

2.  Writes, reviews, and edits, as necessary, presentations, posters, abstracts for key Medical Affairs activities (e.g. scientific meetings, advisory boards)

 

3.  Responsible for the routine review of published literature regarding the Company’s products and collection and archiving of publications.

 

4.  Assist with the integration of clinical trial data/information into concise reports for journal submissions and other key publication media.

 

5.  Supports the development of product slide sets, as appropriate.

 

6.  Maintains technical proficiency and professional skills via independent study and continuing education (e.g. conferences, seminars)

 

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:

 

1.  Candidate needs a successful track record of having developed and implemented of medical communications programs, sound working knowledge of ethical, compliance, legal and regulatory guidelines and requirements related to medical communications and working knowledge of the commercialization process.

 

2.  Three to five years of oncology experience in pharmaceutical industry in Medical Affairs, Clinical Affairs or Medical Information.

 

3.  Experience in managing consultants and vendors. Knowledge of process/project management with scientific publications.

 

4.  Excellent oral presentation and writing skills

 

5.  Ability to achieve departmental and Company goals in a timely manner.

 

6.  Advanced degree in Nursing, Life Sciences, Pharmacy or Medicine.
